I took this yesterday. The building is at the middle of Palmeira Mansions, which face toward the sea with a fantastic view across Adelaide Crescent. It’s a rather grand, theatrical bit of late Regency goodness.
I particularly like the strong coursing and the “stepped” appearance of the various balconies and bays, though I’m not a big fan of the four banded columns on the portico (too faux-rustic for my liking). There’s a split pediment in there too! But really what makes it look so good is the light and the crisp white paint. And the little old lady in her mac. Bless. Though she had the last laugh when it pissed it down later.
